We are notifying our Patrons that RWD 4 is going to have a rate Adjustment. There are many reasons for the rate Adjustment and the RWD 4 Board of Directors would like to invite you to our upcoming meeting to discuss the primary drivers for these changes and to receive your input. To accommodate this meeting, we have scheduled our next meeting at Church of Christ, Vinland KS, 1702 N 700th Rd at 7:00 PM on June 11, 2026.
RWD 4 is facing operational cost outlays that will significantly impact the district. To make sure we can provide the quality and quantity of water to our customers, we must take action now to stay ahead of our infrastructure project and the rising cost of distributing water to you, our patrons.
There are three primary drivers requiring us to make changes to our water rates:
- Purchased water cost increase – RWD 4 purchases 100% of the water consumed by our patrons. The cost of this water has increased significantly since our late rate increase.
- Mandatory infrastructure improvements,
- Continuous Operational Cost Increase – The cost of components, equipment, and the labor to maintain and deliver water to our patron continues to increase.
RWD 4 is committed to minimizing the rate Adjustment to remain as affordable as possible, rates have not been raised since 2017. RWD 4 Board of Directors is working with District Administrator to analyze the impact of the rate change.
Sincerely,
RWD 4 Board of Directors
